  • In a typical junk drawer, people stash: frequently used tool-like things, such as scissors, bag clips, magnets, pens and tape. small objects — safety pins, thumbtacks and toothpicks — that might get lost in the world at large. hastily stowed items, like receipts and spare change.

  • Erectile dysfunction pills are one of the most counterfeited drugs in the world. 3.5 million fake erectile dysfunction drugs were seized in 2019 in the UK alone. This means that a high percentage of products marketed on-line as Viagra, aren't actually Viagra. Fake Viagra is of serious concern, because it is impossible to know exactly what it contains and what side effects it could cause. The trouble is, fake Viagra can look EXACTLY like legitimate Viagra, with a few minor differences SO BE CAREFUL.

  • Labradors have a number of endearing traits or they would not be so popular. They are intelligent and fairly easy to train, partly from their desire to work with people. They are "easy keepers" and can become overweight if they are not exercised and food portions adjusted as needed. Labs are excellent family dogs because they do want to be with people and many do not do well as kennel dogs. Labradors do tend to be protective of their families and homes but are usually happy to greet company, too. With the strong retrieving instinct, they can develop into destructive chewers if not given appropriate toys and guidance. Labs may tend to "mouth" people and the solution is often simply to give them a toy to carry around, so their mouths are already full! These are very strong dogs and early training is necessary to have a dog that walks nicely on lead.

  • Humidity describes the amount of water vapor or water molecules in the air. Weather scientists use the term “relative humidity,” which Joe Sobel, a meteorologist and senior vice president at Accuweather described as “a comparison of the amount of moisture in the air versus the amount of moisture the air could hold.” Think of the atmosphere as a sponge that can hold a fixed amount of water, let’s say a gallon of water. “If there is no water in the sponge… then the relative humidity would be zero,” Sobel said. Saturate the sponge with half a gallon of water – half of what it is capable of holding – and that relative humidity climbs to 50 percent.

  • Why fad diets may be harmful.....Fad diets that are too low in calories may mean you won’t get enough energy to do the things you love. By cutting out major groups of foods, you won’t get the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. If you lose weight too quickly and there is no support to help you keep the weight off, you could get stuck in a cycle of weight loss and weight gain. This yo-yo dieting is stressful for your body.

  • No one is quite sure who invented the margarita, but there are a lot of theories. The most widely spread rumor is that an American socialite named Margarita Sames created the drink for her friends in 1948. One of her party guests was Tommy Hilton, who added the drink to the bar menu at his hotels. This is probably not true, though: The first importer of Jose Cuervo used the tagline "Margarita: it's more than a girl's name" in 1945—three years before Sames debuted her drink. Another story is that a man named Danny Herrera made the drink in his Tijuana restaurant in the '30s or '40s (accounts vary). Marjorie King, one of the showgirls there, was unable to drink any hard liquor but tequila. She wanted a cocktail using the liquor, so Herrera began experimenting. He concocted the now-famous drink and named it after the showgirl, as Margarita is a Spanish version of the name Marjorie.

  • Did you know that 10-30% of babies are born with the cord wrapped around their necks and/or bodies? Cord wrapping, also known as Nuchal Cord, is not usually a problem. The body has a built in safety (and sticky!) mechanism called Wharton’s Jelly, which surrounds the blood vessels within the cord. Wharton’s jelly keeps the cord pliable and ensures blood, oxygen and nutrient flow can continue to happen. When cords are extra long, the chance of a nuchal cord are higher.

Whisky starts its life as beer.....Whisky is made from 'wort', which is the 'beer' that gets distilled. In fact, wort is made out of all the ingredients that you would find in a glass of chilled beer - water, yeast and malts. Moreover this process is used to prevent unwanted pests. We spell Scottish and Canadian whisky without the e and the others as whiskey. The 400ml bottle of Glenavon Special Liqueur Whisky holds the Guinness World Record for being the World's Oldest Whisky. It is rumoured to be packaged in between 1851 and 1858 and was owned by an Irish family till it was auctioned off to Bonhams in London and fetched a staggering £14,850.

  • A bearded lady (or bearded woman) is a female, with a naturally occurring beard normally due to the condition known as hirsutism or hypertrichosis. Hypertrichosis causes people of either sex to develop excess hair over their entire body (including the face), while hirsutism is restricted to females.

  • Eyebrows protect our eyes and throughout human history, much of our body hair has more or less disappeared, except for one notable feature — our brows. And there's a good reason. Like our lashes, our brows wick away sweat and dirt so they don't cloud our vision. They also deflect rain, and force drops to run down the side of our face instead of straight into our eyes.

  • Indoor cats are less likely to catch a mouse than outdoor cats, but it can happen. Your feline friend is hardwired for hunting, which is why your kitty sometimes attacks random objects like wads of paper or your feet.
